Fikah acknowledges the current problems the fashion industry is causing environmental problems. Fikah is a slow fashion brand that considers our designs and uses a quality over quantities approach. Our pieces are made of natural fibres that are made to last and ensure that they can be worn over time. We understand that we are taking from the environment; some are more sustainable than others. We are taking this on board, investing in sustainability, and discovering better-use fabrics. Our bulk orders remain small to ensure we don’t contribute to waste.
Packaging
Our packaging is all sustainable with stickers, tissue paper and cards, all made from FSC- certified materials and soy-based inks. They are 100% recyclable and compostable. Our shipping mailers are made of 70-80% PBAT (a co-polymer that is entirely compostable and 20-30% PLA (which is a fancy way of saying cornstarch). We pledge to continue to use our environmentally friendly packaging.
Fikah will continue to invest in sustainability and improve our practices over time. Sustainability is a priority for the brand, and we will continue to share our journey into creating sustainable products and methods for our brand.
